Ross Vexsis The Vexsis defines modern Ross technology and is built around a powerful drag system consisting of Carbon Fiber, Rulon and Ceramic. The Carbon supports mechanical strength, infinite heat and fatigue resistance and shock-dampening. The Ceramic provides an incompressible heat resistant surface that maintains drag consistency. By combining these elements in the correct sequence with self-lubricating Rulon, you end up with a perfect brake system!
In addition to a world-class drag, the Vexsis series is loaded with modern reel technology, including the first ever Magnalock magnetic spool release system that powerfully pulls the spool onto the frame and securely locks the system. The drag knob incorporates a revolutionary multi-ball thrust bearing drag for an almost perfectly linear drag response, resulting in a constant, smooth feel through multiple knob rotations. Abel DeYoung Finished Reels For 2010, Abel has chosen two more paintings based on DeYoung's popular artwork. One reel is based on Derek's brook trout canvas art titled Purple Cheeks, the other a cutthroat trout appropriately named Yellowstone. DeYoung's Yellowstone Cutthroat and Purple Cheeks Brook finishes are priced at $350 above the normal cost of a standard black Abel reel. Fly reel artwork representation of the DeYoung reels are individually hand painted and anodized at the Abel precision machine shop. Solid Reels only.
